Looking back at my life before I came to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, I realize that it is by God’s Grace alone that I didn’t end up locked down, as a resident of a facility within the State of California's Department of Rehabilitation. There are many men in our prison system who started their journey through crimes committed while intoxicated from drugs or alcohol, or both. I am grateful to have a ministry with an office outside of the prison walls … at the end of a day of ministry I have my “get out of jail card” when I hit the gate …. With that said: In 1988 with that conviction on my heart, I had my first experience serving through the ministry of music, in a Federal Prison. Little did I know that this road would eventually lead to me becoming a Volunteer Chaplain for the State of California at Corcoran Prison and Centenalla Prison. I am now sent out as a missionary from Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, serving at Corcoran and Centenalla Prisons by exhortation and teaching through the Word of God, leading worship, working with inmate worship teams and ministering to the men one on one.
Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.
For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.”
Romans 14:11 NKJV
All glory to our Lord Jesus Christ for opening the doors of hardened hearts to set the prisoners free!
The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners...
